I heard this track on over at concreteloop. It’s one of those fresh funky summery tracks you listen too in the car with the windows down….I’m really amped for Solange’s New Release.
“SOLANGE’S “SANDCASTLE DISCO” Listen
*Wondering why queen Bee junior solo came with this and the rest of the working bees crypt workers came with the blandness…..exhibit 1 and exhibit 2…*
Yeah I had love for the Ms Kelly album but dayum didn’t it die a fast and sad death?”
If you, yourself, or your mind don’t agree with my opinions thats fine….I don’t even agree with myself all the time…..but on the real you can go get your own damn blog and write about all the **** you don’t agree with!
Keep It Out Of The Comment Section….it ain’t all that interesting….
I’ve had the greatest difficulty transferring the database and content to the new host. It finally seems to have worked. Man have I missed this blog. I’ll admit I’ve had times when I though maybe I should forget about it all.
Then I hear a great record and just want to blog about it….
So here we are….. New Host, Fresh Install of wordpress….now all I gotta too is find readers….
I guess this is not what we were all expecting. I’m sure though LA will come up with a better follow up single……Listen to Touch My Body under the cut….Then again MC hasn’t exactly been known for her lyrics but at least the girl writes them herself….The whole youtube bit is kinda wack even for mimi standards…… I’ve got to say that we’ve past these melodies and hooks a couple of years back…..was expecting something more edgy along the lines of the “Good Life” and dare I say “Umbrella”….but I guess ‘08 is the year to play it safe…..
Performer and songwriter Mariah Carey has set April 15th as the in-store date for the most eagerly anticipated album of the year, E=MC².The 11th studio album of her career, E=MC² is the follow-up to The Emancipation Of Mimi, Mariah’s worldwide 10 million selling #1 album, which generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), 2 #1 singles and countless more industry honors during its 18-month stay on the charts.
Sitting across from a roaring fireplace one winter afternoon in Vail, Janet is curled up on a dark leather couch as she discusses the unlikely topic of Discipline, the title of her new album. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling window, long graceful branches of towering trees are heavy with snow. In the distance, a lift carries skiers up an imposing mountain awash in white. Janet’s wearing a midnight-black sweat suit, her hair pulled back to the nape of her neck. Her body language is relaxed and her eyes are smiling. She’s trim, and also a little hoarse, having just fought off a cold. The whisper-quiet texture of her voice adds to the intimacy of the conversation.
“Discipline has been much on my mind,? she says. “It’s the idea that unifies the songs on this record. As a concept, and even a lifestyle, discipline goes extremely deep. It can be applied to so much about ourselves. In my case, I see it as one of defining aspects of my character. Discipline was there for me from the start. But it was not until this record that I began to understand its full meaning.
“In putting Discipline out front– as both the title of the album and title of a song about sexual surrender–I wanted to announce that I was venturing into new creative waters. That meant working with producers like Jermaine Dupri, Rodney Jerkins, and Ne-Yo, whose songs spoke to the immediacy of my emotions. Like all my records, this one, whether intentional or not, has autobiographical roots. It’s difficult for me to work any other way. I don’t feel it, if I don’t believe it, I can’t sing it.
Janet’s 40 sumthing year old behind is making it rain on them hoes Rihanna, Ciara, and the rest of the interchangeables. I must say that I’m very happy that this record seems to be going into a different direction from the whole 20 y.o. mess (which really had no chance of living up to the hype) though. The video itself direction wise could have been a whole loaf a bread better but then again who is looking at the set? Choreography wise she’s killing it….not even the haters can dispute that….
W hat do y’all think of Janet’s latest Video “Feedback”
Happy new year folks….better late than never…… Hmm me and my hosting provider are not on good terms so I guess they were trying to prove something by suspending my account….In the next couple of days I’ll be switching hosts…..I need more bandwidth anyway…:P
Maybe not my choice for a single. I like what this song is about ( His mon’s battle with a heroine addiction). I do think this song would have a bigger impact if Mario released Kryptonite first. It would of put all the attention on him. I do though believe very much in artists putting music out with a message and this song might not be the most talked about song ever…..but then again who cares…..it does what it’s supposed to……
(December13, 2007 – New York, NY) International megastar Janet Jackson, who has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and is the newest signing to the Island Def Jam Music Group, has completed her first new single for the label with hitmaking producer Rodney Jerkins. “Feedback? will impact across-the-board at all radio formats on January 7th.
DISCIPLINE, Janet Jackson’s new album – and the 10th studio album of her career – is scheduled to arrive in stores on February 26th. In addition to Rodney Jerkins, the new album brings together an A-list of guest producers, including Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, Stargate, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream. DISCIPLINE was executive produced by Antonio “L.A.? Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group.
This song has been pon de replay at mi casa……. I must admit the velvet rope album had some deep things going on but let’s be real, deep don’t sell anymore….People go to a Janet show for the bare entertainment of it all and miss Jackson satisfies. I love the way this track is put together, from the upbeat beat to Janet playful singing. I wonder what people will find to complain about this time around…After the 20 Y.O. album kinda flopped ( Iactually digged it) folk was saying janet should just retire altogether. I think with the way this single was released without all the hype, which creates expectations, this record has an opportunity to firmly put Janet at the Throne of that little world called pop music.
